Today, Reka and I were planning on a short overnighter to Snow Lake at Mt. Rainier National Park. After the 3 hour drive from Seattle we were denied a permit to camp because the 2 spots were already full. We tried to figure out another easy overnighter but with out limited time nothing really presented itself. We instead drove up to Paradise and decided on a short hike up to Glacier Vista. Having been there hundreds of times before we both new what to expect and new we would not be disappointed. We quickly made the hike in about 35 minutes and sat down in the sun to break out are amazing picnic.

September is a great time to pick blueberries in the North Cascades. We found ourselves crawling into the bushes quite often to feed on the big, juicy berries and they provided a great natural dessert.

On the hike back to the car we had a photography competition. Reka won with this picture of "A mouse on a stick".
