Headlight Point, 5.10a
- Gear Used:
- 60 meter rope
- quickdraws
After taking Exit 38 off of I-90 you continue past Deception Crags and back under the highway to the large parking lot. Hike up the road and jump the road barrier right after the bridge. Continue hiking up the trail past the Gritstone area. After about 10 minutes take a right into the forest and follow the trail down to a large downed tree. At the tree you can continue to hike down which takes you to the Gun Show area or continue up for the Interstate Park area.
Interstate Block is broken up into 3 separate areas. Headlight Point which has a bunch of fun moderate routes. Eastern Block which is basically a continuation of Headlight Point only separated by the cave area and finally Squishy Bell which is a couple minutes uphill from Kiss of the Crowbar. Pictures are in black and white cause they all sucked!
Short and easy. It's the very first route that you encounter once you reach the Interstate Park area. Follow 3 bolts up blocky rock to an anchor.

Start on a clean face and finish through blocky terrain. Every time you think it is going to get a bit hard a huge jug appears. Pretty fun climbing. 4 bolts to an anchor.
Fun route following 6 bolts to an anchor. The crux is right below the chains as you pull over a bulge.

I will never understand why this great route only gets 2 stars. Start with a undercling traverse until you can reach over the roof and grab the great finger flake. Traverse to the right until you can pull up and over. Continue up easier terrain to the chains. It was a bit wet today but it was pretty easy to avoid the slime.
